So this list was extremely depressing to make! Originally, I was just going to make a list of series I hadn’t started yet…but then I realized that I haven’t finished so many great series that it’s just getting embarrassing at this point. Usually I’m pretty good about reading popular books that are out…but apparently I’ve dropped the ball on quite a few!
- A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin
Saw the show…LOVED IT! Read the first 3 books…LOVED THEM! What happened after that you may ask? Well, a friend decided to start telling me too many details (SPOILER ALERT NICK!) so I didn’t feel like I needed to read them because I knew what happened anyway! But now I feel like I don’t know the little details… and I don’t know if the show is staying true to the books or not, and the not knowing is just killing me! So I definitely think it’s time to return to this series
- Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
This is embarrassing. You see Outlander just happens to be one of my favourite books of all time. I really have no excuse for not finishing this series ages ago! I think I just got distracted between books… I finished the fourth one with intentions to start the fifth and next thing I know I’m reading something completely different!
- Maze Runner Series by James Dashner
To be honest I had absolutely no intention of reading this series. Working at Chapters I had seen this series on the shelf many times and I just couldn’t bring myself to read it! Then I did something I rarely do, (although this happened with two series on this list!) I watched the movie. My boyfriend and I watched The Maze Runner together and were both hooked. So I think I need to read the books now!
- The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
I’ve been seeing this series EVERYWHERE. I don’t know why but lately I feel like I can’t go anywhere without seeing one of the covers or hearing someone talk about how amazing they are! Honestly, I don’t know why I never thought to read this one before.
- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien
This is the second series on this list where the movie inspired me to read the books. I usually postpone watching a movie until I read the books but I gave in on this one. After watching the movies (for the hundredth time) I needed more so I bought the trilogy (and the hobbit) with full intentions of reading them all right away. This did not happen yet again I got distracted by something else new and shiny in between books 1 and 2 of the trilogy and just haven’t returned!
- The Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson
I tried reading the first book multiple times and I just couldn’t get through the first 100 pages. I tried over and over again and finally on roughly page 103 I was hooked! I couldn’t put the book down! I now own all the books and I really need to read the rest of this trilogy because the first one was so mysterious and awesome!
- Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard
I actually started this series before the T.V. Show came out! I was working at Coles and spotted them one day. I think at the time there were 3 or 4 books released and I absolutely blew through them. I just never got back into them! I absolutely love the show and would really like to finish this series!
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
This is another one I keep hearing tons about! I just haven’t picked it up yet! From what I’ve heard this series is amazing so I think I might have to give it a try!
- The Tudor Court and The Cousin’s War Series by Phillipa Gregory
Yes I know these are two different series’ but I grouped them together because they are by the same amazing author! I have read a couple books in each of the series and really enjoyed them both. I own multiple books in each of the series but just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet! Definitely on my To Do List!
- Confessions of Georgia Nicholson by Louise Rennison
I read the first book of this series (Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging) many many many years ago and absolutely adored it! At the time I didn’t know ordering books was an option (My parents probably kept this fact to themselves on purpose) and never got my hands on the rest of the series! While this book may be a little young for me at this point I think I owe it to my younger self to read this entire series!
So are any of these on your list!??
