Book Blurb Header
Twin sisters Jade and Jasmine are finally together after a five-year separation, but there’s no time to enjoy the reunion. As Seers, the sisters are being hunted by demons spilling through the rift, and the city is on high alert against terrorist threats. The Protectors at Beaconsfield have gathered as many Seers as possible, as the countries that haven’t been destroyed by climate change are starting to close their borders. On top of it all, Jasmine discovers that someone has stolen a ring with the power to control the demons, and the Final Battle between the Daughters of Light and the forces of darkness is approaching more quickly than anyone predicted.

Review Header

Solomon’s Ring is the second book in the Daughters of Light series. I was fortunate enough to get the chance to read the first book, Finding Jade. After finishing Finding Jade, I was left with so many questions! I couldn’t wait to dive into Solomon’s Ring.

In Finding Jade I found that things started off a bit slow. Solomon’s Ring was action packed. While the book has a dystopian setting you can draw connections between the novel and  current issues we are facing in the world. I liked the fact that Payne took important subjects and wrapped them in an interesting and thought provoking storyline that will appeal readers.

In Finding Jade we didn’t get to see much of a reunion between Jade and Jasmine. So it was really interesting to see how the relationship between them progressed.  I’m hoping we get to see more character development in the next book. My only issue with this novel was that some events in the book weren’t necessary and I didn’t understand the motive behind some of the actions of the characters. While Payne has an exciting and interesting storyline I think it could use a little more depth.

Solomon’s Ring definitely left me wanting more so I’m eagerly anticipating book 3 to see how things unfold!
